摘　　要：陈嘉庚在长期的兴学过程中,始终高度重视图书馆的建设,竭力在海内外创设及资助学校图书馆,同时还积极倡建和兴办公共图书馆,为培养优秀人才、传播先进文化、提高国民素质作出了极大贡献。陈嘉庚不仅在实践上对图书馆事业倾注了满腔热情和诸多心血,而且在图书馆领域也有独到精辟的理论见解,提出高屋建瓴的图书馆价值观,兼收并蓄的馆藏建设方针,优先保证图书经费的预算原则,务实灵活、独具匠心的馆舍建设思想,“有所为有所不为”的捐助观等一系列观点。陈嘉庚的图书馆建设实践与图书馆观是其整个教育实践与思想的重要组成部分,影响深远。陈嘉庚富有高度和前瞻性的图书馆观是一笔弥足珍贵的精神财富,时至今日仍然具有重要的现实指导意义,值得我们学习弘扬。During his long-term process of promoting education,Tan Kah-kee always attached great importance to the construction of libraries.He made every effort to establish and support school libraries at home and abroad,and actively advocated and established public libraries,which made great contributions to cultivating outstanding talents,spreading advanced culture,and improving the quality of the countrymen.Tan Kah-kee not only poured his enthusiasm and effort into the library cause in practice,but also had unique and incisive theoretical insights in the field of library.His library practice and thought are an important part of his entire educational practice and thought,and have far-reaching influence.His library thought with high level and forward-looking is an extremely precious spiritual wealth,and it still has important practical guiding significance up to now,which is worth our learning and carrying forward.
