摘  要:Abstract MOOCs,i.e.,Massive Open Online Courses,have been widely adopted in universities all over the world,and they have been strongly promoted by Chinese education authorities since the outbreak of COVID-19.On the other hand,the dropout rate of MOOC students is fairly high,which has become a hot topic for higher education researchers.This study makes an analysis of 181 papers on the dropout of MOOC students published between 2008 and 2020,focusing on the research topics,research methods,and main factors influencing the dropout of MOOC students,and tries to establish a prediction model of MOOC dropout.The results show that:Current studies focus on strategy research,influencing factors exploration and dropout prediction;the method of quantitative research is adopted in most papers;personal,curriculum,social,psychological,and other factors are involved in the dropout of MOOC students;the prediction of MOOC dropout is mainly based on click stream and learning behavior of curriculum platform,and machine learning algorithm could be used to predict the dropout rate of MOOC students in a single MOOC course as well as whether and when a MOOC student might drop out.
