Nitrogen metabolism is one of the most important metabolic pathways in flue-cured tobacco, including nitrogen absorption, assimilation and distribution.Nitrogen is a constituent of proteins, nucleic acids, chlorophyll, coenzymes, vitamins, nicotine, and smoke aroma substances, and plays a key role in the yield and quality of tobacco leaves. However,it is difficult to control the content of nitrogen-containing compounds in an appropriate range. For this reason,it is particularly important to understand the transport and accumulation mechanism of nitrogen-containing compounds in flue-cured tobacco. This study reviews the research progress of nitrogen absorption and assimilation of flue-cured tobacco and the transportation and accumulation of nitrogen-containing compounds in flue-cured tobacco at home and abroad, focusing on the transportation and accumulation of nitrogen-containing compounds in flue-cured tobacco. This provides valuable clues for how to combine the current research status to promote the research of flue-cured tobacco nitrogenous compounds, and at the same time prospect the future research direction of flue-cured tobacco nitrogen metabolism.
