摘　　要：阿特伍德小说《使女的故事》以一种非线性叙事的方式关注时空问题。主人公奥弗雷德一直处于选择的境地,然而自由感的根源却无法找到,这让人感到困惑。小说中,作者通过真实与想象的交融与转换,构建了一种介于“此时此地与彼时彼地”之间的阈限空间。她运用镜子、门槛等阈限空间的意象,将空间与时间有机交融在一起。在逼仄的间质空间中,自由感得以展开,体验无尽时间的愉悦。同时,阈限空间也展示了基列国女性被边缘化的生存状态。阿特伍德对阈限空间的关注也是对美国未来,特别是女性边缘地位的深切担忧与终极关怀。Margaret Atwood's novel The Handmaid's Tale addresses temporal and spatial issues through a nonlinear narrative.The protagonist,Offred,constantly finds herself in situations where she must make choices,and yet the source of a sense of freedom remains elusive,leaving her feeling perplexed.Atwood crafts a liminal space within the narrative,blurring the boundaries between reality and imagination,where Offred dwells in a state of ambiguity.Through vivid imagery,like mirrors and thresholds,Atwood seamlessly weaves together space and time.In this liminal realm,freedom unfolds,offering a taste of limitless time's delight.Simultaneously,it underscores the marginalized status of women in the Republic of Gilead.Atwood's exploration of this liminal space reflects her deep concern for the future of the United States,particularly the plight of marginalized women.
