Pregnancy is a physiological process that requires adequate energy and nutrient supply, and a series of metabolic adaptation changes will occur in the mother′s body to meet the needs of fetal growth and development, including a large amount of lipid synthesis in the first trimester of pregnancy, and the transformation of the mother′s main energy source from glucose metabolism to lipid metabolism in the third trimester. This poses a huge challenge to the maternal health,as these physiological processes are often accompanied by adverse effects such as decreased maternal insulin sensitivity, accumulation of visceral fat,and increased blood lipids, thus the physiological process of postpartum breastfeeding is particularly important.Breastfeeding has been shown to play an important role in reducing postpartum obesity, lowering blood lipid levels, reducing the risk of long-term diseases such as metabolic syndrome, and even reducing the incidence of postpartum type 2 diabetes in women with gestational diabetes during pregnancy, but the benefits of breastfeeding for women have not yet been fully explored, and further exploration is still needed.
