Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis(AIS)is a common spinal disease among adolescents. In addition to affecting the quality of life of the patients,AIS has a negative impact on the mental health of adolescents.Although surgery is effective for this disease,it will impose a heavy burden on patients'lives. Therefore, the patients prefer to non-surgical therapies. To understand the feasibility and advantages of non-surgical methods in treating AIS,this article reviews the studies about treating AIS with non-surgical methods from 2005 to 2023 by searching against the China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang Data,VIP,and Pub Med.According to the available studies, braces, exercise, manipulation, acupuncture, and comprehensive therapy are the commonly used non-surgical methods in clinical practice. This article analyzes the efficacy and advantages of these treatment methods.
