摘　　要：伊安·瓦特的《小说的兴起》开启了20世纪后半叶英国小说起源研究的先河。该书的不少忽略之处得到了后来学者的补充,小说文体的多质性和小说史起源历史的复杂性也得以更充分证实。这一研究中的一大问题即是罗曼司的定位及其与小说的关系。从单纯强调小说与罗曼司之间的断裂,到意识到小说与罗曼司之间的联系,这即是20世纪后半叶的小说起源史研究的大致走向。其中主要的研究视角包括新历史主义、女性主义、科技手段辅助与文本细读相结合、比较和全球视角等,同时也体现了将宏大叙事与对于异类、断续和转瞬即逝的潮流的关注相结合的趋势。lan Watt's The Rise of the Novel is the prime mover of the studies of the origins of the English novel in the late 20th century.Its brevity has now been compensated by later scholarly discussions,which fully prove the heterogeneity of the novel form and the complexity of the history of its rise.One of the central issues in this study is the position of the romance and its relationship with the novel.The general trend of the study of the origins of the novel in the latter half of the 2Oth century is the turn from the simple emphasis on the disruption of the novel from the romance to the recognition of their actual connection.In this study the major approaches include new historicism,feminism,the combination of technological tools,close reading,and comparative and global vision.Meanwhile the trend is that of remitting from building grand narratives and paying more attention to special cases.
