摘　　要：《鬼新郎》是《见闻札记》中唯一以欧洲大陆为故事背景的短篇小说。作者华盛顿·欧文以戏谑反讽的方式改写了其故事原型《丽诺尔》,旨在生成新型文类话语,以此挑战英国哥特文学传统。与此同时,这一文类竞争联动着小说中另一地缘政治文本的发生路径,指涉彼时复杂的跨大西洋社会历史语境,进而为读者勾勒出“英、欧、美、加”国家/地区之间的政治关系隐喻图景。就此而言,《鬼新郎》堪称文类与政治的双重寓言,投射出后独立革命时代美国作家试图重新想象大西洋两岸文化与政治权力格局的创作诉求。"The Specter Bridegroom"is the only short story with European narrative background in The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon,Gent.Washington Irving rewrote the prototype Lenore in a sportive and ironic way,aiming at challenging the British Gothic tradition by generating a new genre discourse.This genre competition was also linked to the other geopolitical text embedded in the story,in which Irving outlined for the readers a metaphorical map of political relations among the countries/regions of Britain,continental Europe,America,and Canadian colonies,referring to the complex historical context of transatlantic society at that time.Therefore,"The Specter Bridegroom"should be regarded as a dual allegory of genre and politics.In the post-Revolutionary era,this work projected the literary appeal of an American writer to reinterpret the cultural and political power dynamics across the Atlantic.
