商榷文中的评价资源及礼貌机制  

Appraisal and the Underlying Politeness Mechanism in Chinese Conflict Articles

摘　　要：商榷文是一类对其他作者或文章表达反对立场的学术体裁。分析来自CSSCI和核心期刊的语言学领域商榷文,发现四种(不)礼貌策略:按频率降序排列依次为非公开批评、公开非缓和性批评、公开缓和性批评和认可/赞扬。高频评价资源配置类型,包括非公开批评中的“欣赏+对话收缩+无明显提升或降低/提升级差”“欣赏+对话扩展+提升级差”,公开缓和性批评中的“欣赏+对话扩展+无明显提升或降低/降低/提升级差”“欣赏+对话收缩+降低级差”以及认可/赞扬中的“欣赏+自言+提升级差”,表明评价者努力缓和对被评价者的面子造成的威胁。然而,公开非缓和性批评中的“欣赏+对话收缩/自言+无明显提升或降低级差”和判断资源则揭示了部分评价者牺牲交际凸显个人学术观点的做法。将具有契合点的评价系统和(不)礼貌理论结合起来实现理论互证,对于丰富评价系统和(不)礼貌研究的理论框架、开展有效的学术对话具有一定的理论和现实意义。In conflict articles,the authors’stance against other authors or research articles is expressed.Analysis of 30 linguistic conflict articles from CSSCI and core journals reveals the four(im)politeness strategies of off-record criticism,unmitigated on-record criticism,mitigated on-record criticism and recognition/praise in a decreasing order.Recurrent patterns of appraisal resources include“appreciation+contraction+level/up-scale graduation”and“appreciation+expansion+up-scale graduation”within off-record criticism,“appreciation+expansion+level/down/up-scale graduation”and“appreciation+contraction+down-scale graduation”within mitigated on-record criticism,and“appreciation+monogloss+up-scale graduation”within recognition/praise,which help mitigate face threat to the appraisees.However,frequent occurrence of“appreciation+contraction/monogloss+level-scale graduation”and“judgment”within unmitigated on-record criticism reveals the appraisers’promotion of their claims at the cost of politeness.The present study enriches the appraisal and(im)politeness theories by integrating them and has some implication for effective dialog in academic discourse.
