摘　　要：卢沟桥事变爆发后,苏皖沿江地区美国教会医院医疗传教士并未遵从美国国务院的撤离建议,毅然留在当地,经历了家庭离散和战火后艰难撤离,以及沦陷初期日军当局对他们人身财产的各种侵害,仍继续开展医疗救治及人道主义救援活动,挽救了无数饱受战祸及日伪高压统治摧残的百姓生命,成为日本侵华战争的亲历者和见证人。无论他们出于什么理由留在中国,他们面对战争及日军暴行时高洁的人性光辉,值得人们永远铭记。After the outbreak of the Marco Polo Bridge Ineident,the medical missionaries from American missionary hospitals in the Yangzi River Area of Anhui-Jiangsu Province did not follow the evacuation suggestions of the U.S.State Department and resolutely stayed in the area.They experienced the separation from their families,faced harder evacuation situations after the war,and encountered various Japanese military infringements on their personal property,while continued to carry out medical treatment and humanitarian relief activities,saving countless people's lives who suffered from the scourge of the war and the Japanese atrocity.They became the witnesses of Japanese invasion.Regardless of their reasons for staying in China,their noble humanity in the war deserves to be remembered forever.
