莫言《白棉花》版本考辨  

Analysis on the Version of Mo Yan’s White Cotton

摘　　要：作为“《红高粱》的姊妹篇”的中篇小说《白棉花》,最早公开发表在《花城》1991年第5期,是为“初刊本”;几乎同时,它又被收入华艺出版社1991年10月出版的同名小说集《白棉花》,是为“初版本”。这两个版本时间接近,却又存在着明显的文本差异,以至于后来“花开两朵”——后来的“转载本”属于“初刊本”序列;2002年九州出版社出版的《幸福时光好幽默:莫言电影小说精品》、2004年当代世界出版社“莫言文集”第10卷《白棉花》等则是“初版本”的延续。而2004年民族出版社“名著彩绘·莫言精品系列”的《白棉花》,虽以“初版本”为“底本”,但已经过全面修改,可称之为“改定本”,2020年5月,浙江文艺出版社出版的《白棉花》(莫言中篇小说精品系列)采用的就是这个版本。一方面,我们力倡作家的版本意识,即尽可能保持作品文本的高度稳定;另一方面,作品的一次次修改、打磨,又确实是一个精益求精的过程。就结果而言,当代文学的作品文本与版本,往往是由作家与编辑共同完成的,而读者也是版本“最优化”进程中不可忽视的一环。As the sister piece of Red Sorghum,the novel White Cotton was first published in the 5th issue of Huacheng in 1991 as the“first published edition”.Almost at the same time,it was included in the White Cotton,a collection of stories of the same name published by Huayi Publishing House in October 1991,as the“original edition”.These two versions are close in time,but are obvious different in text.So later“two flowers blossom”——the later“reprinted version”belongs to the“first published edition”sequence;while the“original edition”was later collected in Happy Times Good Humor published by Jiuzhou Publishing House in 2002 and Mo Yan Collected Works volume 10 published by Contemporary World Publishing House in 2004.In 2004,the White Cotton of the Masterpiece Painting·Mo Yan Fine series of the National Publishing House,is based on the“original edition”but is modified comprehensively,so it can be called“modified version”.In May 2020,the White Cotton(Mo Yan novel fine series)published by Zhejiang Literature and Art Publishing House adopted this version.On the one hand,we advocate the writer’s version consciousness,that is,to keep the text of the work as stable as possible;On the other hand,the revision and polishing of the work over and over again is indeed a process of excellence.As a result,the text and version of contemporary literature are often jointly completed by writers and editors,and readers are also an important part of the“optimization”process of the version.
