摘　　要：AImost everyone who walks into the Potala Palace experiences a breathtaking moment as they observe its grand building complex.After more than 1300 years,the Potala Palace still stands tall,attracting a largenumber of tourists every year.Built upon a mountain and standing in a geographically challenging location,the Potala Palace frequently encounters various natural disasters,leading to different dangers and potential damages,such as wall cracks and insect erosion of architectural timbers.Fortunately,there are dedicated groups of people who work tirelessly for the conservation of this ancient grand architecture.They have devoted their youth and even their entire lives to accompany this ancient building complex through at least a part of history.These ordinary yet extraordinary craftsmen form a unit under the Administration Department ofthePotala Palace,knownas theMaintenanceSection.
