摘  要:农村儿童非认知能力可能对其成年后就业成就有着重要影响。本文使用工具变量法,基于CFPS2010-2020共6期数据,研究发现农村劳动力儿童时期非认知能力对其工资收入存在显著正向影响。异质性分析表明,相比10-12岁的非认知能力,12-15岁的非认知能力对成年工资收入的影响更大,儿童非认知能力对男性和中低收入群体的工资收入提高更有利。机制分析表明,农村儿童非认知能力通过教育选择效应、职业筛选效应以及社会资本效应促进其成年工资收入的提高。这表明,重视农村儿童非认知能力的培养,可以显著提高其成年就业成就,更快实现以人口高质量发展支撑中国式现代化。Non-cognitive ability during childhood in rural areas may have a significant impact on their employment achievement in adulthood.Using instrumental variable approach and based on of CFPS 2010-2020,the article finds that rural laborers’noncognitive ability in childhood has a significant positive effect on their earnings as adults.Heterogeneity analysis shows that such effect is more positive and significant for the childhood at the age of 12-15 compared with the childhood at the age of 1-12,and rural children’s non-cognitive ability brings about more favorable earnings to the male and the low-income groups.Mechanism analysis shows that rural children’s non-cognitive ability contributes to the improvement of their earnings by influencing educational choice,occupational screening,and social capital.The above findings suggest that timely attention to the cultivation and development of rural laborers’childhood non-cognitive abilities can significantly improve their employment achievements and accelerate the realization of high-quality population development to support Chinese-style modernization.
