Osteoporosis(OP)is a systemic metabolic bone disease, which has become one of the public health problems of the society. Many digestive diseases have a high risk of OP,including inflammatory bowel disease, chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, gastrointestinal tumors and so on.At present, the mechanism of these diseases causing osteoporosis is not fully understood. At the same time, some anti-osteoporosis drugs often show gastrointestinal side effects, which may aggravate the clinical symptoms of patients. Therefore,it is urgent to seek effective treatment strategies. This article reviews the epidemiological characteristics, related risk factors, bone metabolism changes and bone damage characteristics, pathogenesis and diagnosis and treatment progress of secondary osteoporosis caused by digestive system common diseases,in order to provide reference for the prevention and treatment of secondary osteoporosis and to promote the development of multidisciplinary collaboration model.
