During the construction process of PHC piles, the complex geological conditions such as strongly weathered rock layers and deep hard clay may be encountered, which may lead to the quality accidents such as inability to successfully sink the piles into the place during the pile sinking process. The GRLWEAP analysis program is used to conduct a feasibility analysis for the pile driving of PHC pipe piles in soft soil areas under complex underground conditions such as strong weathered rock layers and deep hard clay.At the same time, the analysis results are comprehensively compared with the results from the on-site high strain monitoring tests. The study has found that combining high strain monitoring with GRLWEAP tool to evaluate the feasibility of pile driving is a key and effective method;as long as the pile driving system and pile driving technique are reasonably selected,PHC piles are completely feasible in crossing strongly weathered rock formations;when PHC piles pass through hard cohesive soil foundations, the damage to the pile body is mainly caused by the circumferential tension from the soil plug effect.
