摘　　要：理查德·马卡斯特是16世纪晚期英格兰一位教育家和教育思想家,为发展平民主义的体育思想作出了贡献。具体而言,马卡斯特将旧贵族用于备战和修身的训练转变为在校学生强身和益智的锻炼,扩大了受教育的主体,使体育成为近现代教育体系中的重要组成部分。他在扩大体育理论的医学基础的同时保留了大众体育观念中的民族主义情结。这些思想成果既顺应了时代需求,也是16世纪英格兰体育思想演化的自然结果。The present paper,reviewing the physical education doctrines developed by Richard Mulcaster(ca.1531—1611),an English schoolmaster,concludes that Mulcaster not only made the physical education indispensable to the modern education by transforming the old aristocratic physical training into a tool benefiting students'body and intelligence but he also kept the nationalist sentiments existing in the popular idea of sports in conformity with the special needs of the time.
