This study aims to investigate the construction path of international communication discourse of China’s ecological civilization from the perspective of metaphorical rhetoric criticism.By analyzing its relevant texts in the corpus, this article reveals the application of metaphors in ecological civilization discourse and their rhetorical effects.Research has found that China widely uses metaphors such as war, architecture, and color when disseminating the concept of ecological civilization to the outside world, aiming to shape a positive national image, advocate sustainable development concepts, and promote international cooperation.By analyzing the rhetorical functions and dissemination effects of metaphors from multiple dimensions, this article elucidates how these metaphors enhance persuasiveness and attractiveness of China’s ecological civilization discourse. The research results indicate that metaphorical rhetoric can not only effectively convey complex ecological concepts, but also overcome cultural barriers, achieve deeper international understanding and recognition, and provide new perspectives and methods for global governance of future ecological civilization.
