《干旱的九月》和《喧哗与骚动》中南方白人的心理探析——以荣格人格理论为视角  

Psychological Analysis of Southern White People in “Dry September” and “The Sound and the Fury”——From the Perspective of Jung's Personality Theory

摘　　要：在《喧哗与骚动》和《干旱的九月》中,福克纳回顾了美国南方不断变化的历史和南方人的心理反应,呈现了南方白人在社会转型时期内心的迷茫和无助。文章借荣格精神分析理论中的人格面具、阴影和阿尼玛原型,分析了以麦克莱顿和昆丁为代表的南方白人男性战后的心理变化和发展。通过对战后没落贵族后裔和战前自诩为“南方神话”的骑士精神的洞察,呈现了美国内战对南方人巨大的精神影响和心理冲击,揭露了旧南方文化中的腐朽传统对南方人的思想禁锢。In“The Sound and the Fury” and “Dry September”,Faulkner reviews the constantly changing history of the American South and the psychological reactions of Southerners,presenting the inner confusion and helplessness of white Southerners during the period of social transformation.The article uses the persona mask,shadow,and Anima archetype in Jung's psychoanalytic theory to analyze the psychological changes and development of Southern white men,represented by McClintone and Quentin,after the war.Through insights into the descendants of the fallen aristocracy after the war and the knightly spirit that claimed to be the “southern myth” before the war,it presents the enormous spiritual impact and psychological shock of the American Civil War on Southerners,and exposes the decadent traditions in old Southern culture that have imprisoned their thinking.
