摘　　要：国际大都市是引领世界城市发展和文明演进的前沿城市。认识其发展过程中的演进历程、特征和未来趋势,对于中国建设一批社会主义现代化国际大都市具有重要参考价值。国际大都市的发展历程、特征和趋势表明,国际大都市的发展以工业化、全球化和信息化为主要驱动力,历经工业化、后工业化和信息化三种形态。今天的国际大都市基本形成了实体空间、社会空间和信息空间相互叠加融合的特征。面向未来,国际大都市将以创新为重要引擎,继续在可持续发展和城市文明方面承担引领者的角色。International metropolises are frontier cities that lead the world's urban development and civilisation evolution.Understanding the evolutionary history,characteristics and future trends in the course of their development is of important reference value for the construction of a group of socialist,modern and international metropolises in China.This paper reviews the development history,characteristics and trends of international metropolises by adopting the method of induction and deduction with the time dimension as the main line.The results show that the development of international metropolises is mainly driven by industrialisation,globalisation and informatisation,and has gone through three forms:industrialisation,post-industrialisation and informatisation.Today's international metropolises are basically characterised by the overlapping and integration of physical space,social space and cyberspace.Looking to the future,international metropolises will continue to play a leading role in sustainable development and urban civilization with innovation as an important engine.
