Eczema is an inflammatory skin disease caused by various internal and external factors. This disease is characterized by multiple forms of skin rashes, often symmetrically distributed, with a tendency to exudate, conscious itching, easy recurrence and chronic development.Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners often believe that eczema is always caused by innate impatience, with wind, dampness and heat blocking the skin, closely related to spleen, and dampness is the core cause of its onset. The ascending and descending functions of spleen and stomach serve as the hub for the overall Qi movement.Abnormal ascending and descending functions of pleen and stomach can lead to endogenous phlegm and dampness, and various diseases. This article explored the pathogenesis of eczema from the theory of ascending and descending functions of spleen and stomach, with a focus on the evolution of the pathogenesis and the principles of staging diagnosis and treatment during the occurrence and development of eczema.
