摘 要:徐兴业《清代词学批评家述评》对晚清陈廷焯、谭献、王国维的词学批评展开评述。在批评立场上,以西方“纯文艺”和中国传统词学之“雅正”作为批评核心,但意蕴有所偏移,且主张以“雅正”补正“纯文艺”之弊端。在具体批评实践中,徐兴业围绕着“六失说”集中评述了陈廷焯“雅正”“沉郁”的观点;赞成谭献的“清词三大家”的论断;服膺王国维纯文艺立场及其“境界说”。徐兴业对三家思想均有不同程度接受,评述往往一语中的。总之,站在新文学蓬勃发展和传统古典文学日渐式微的交点上,徐兴业的批评观、批评方法、批评立场融汇中西,《清代词学批评家述评》着力于词学理论研究,既是民国词学批评的重要成果,更体现出由旧词学向现代词学嬗变的历程,在近现代教育史和学术史上同样值得重视。Xu Xingye’s Review of Commentary on Critics of Qing Dynasty Ci Studies reviews the lexicographic criticism of Chen Tingzhuo,Tan Xian,and Wang Guowei in the late Qing Dynasty.In terms of critical stance,the western“pure literature and art”and the“elegance and correctness”of traditional Chinese lexicography are taken as the core of lexicographic criticism,but with some shifts in the boundaries of meaning.He advocated the use of“elegance and correctness”to remedy the shortcomings of“pure literature and art”.In the specific critical practice,Xu Xingye focused on the“six flaws”to comment on Chen Tingzhuo’s theory of“elegance and propriety”and“deep melancholy”;he agreed with Tan Xian’s assertion of“three great masters of Qing poetry”;and he adhered to Wang Guowei’s pure literary and artistic stance and his“realm theory”.Xu Xingye accepted all three schools of thought to varying degrees,and his comments were often right on the mark.In short,standing at the intersection of the vigorous development of new literature and the gradual decline of traditional classical literature,Xu Xingye’s critical outlook,critical methodology,and critical stance are a blend of East and West,and Review of Commentary on Critics of Qing Dynasty Ci Studies focuses on the theoretical study of lexicography,which is not only an important achievement of Republican lexicography criticism,but also reflects the course of transmutation of modern lexicography from old lexicography,which is also worth paying attention to in the history of modern education and academic development.
