Objective To study and analyze the clinical efficacy of repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation and non convulsive electroconvulsive therapy in patients with first episode depression. Methods Eighty patients with primary depression admitted to the Qingdao Mental Health Center in Shandong Province from January to December 2022 were non-randomly selected as the research subjects. They were divided into a conventional group and an observation group, with forty patients in each group, according to different treatment methods. The conventional group received non convulsive electroconvulsive therapy, while the observation group received repeated transcranial magnetic stimula-tion plus non convulsive electroconvulsive therapy.Compare the depression status, cognitive function, and incidence of adverse reactions between two groups of patients. Results After treatment, the Hamilton Depression Scale scores and Wisconsin Card Sorting Test scores of the observation group at each time point were better than those of the con-trol group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the ob-servation group was 10.00%(4/40),which was not significantly different from the 7.50%(3/40)in the conventional group(χ^(2)=0.157,P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation and non convul-sive electroconvulsive therapy can effectively promote the improvement of patients with primary depression.
