摘　　要：“Science depends on argument.”1—Roald Hoffmann(1981 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry)In his book of reflections on the philosophy,art,and science of chemistry published in 2012,Nobel Laureate Roald Hoffman expressed his personal view on,“……what I think science,chemistry in particular,is.”1 He provided eight qualities that lay the foundation of his view;these are:(1)science is the acquisition of knowledge about the world;(2)science is part discovery,part creation.
