In response to prominent issues such as aging and corrosion of marine cushion blocks and planks,a manual accelerated aging test method is used to evaluate the durability of three types of specimens,i.e.,scrimber,birch plywood, and pine wood. From the aspects of mechanical strength, mass loss rate and surface state, the results show that the mechanical properties of the three specimens all show a downward trend after aging. However, the scrimber has a high mechanical strength retention rate, with hardness, compressive strength, and flexural strength of 70.5HD,54.74 MPa,and 102.18 MPa after aging, respectively, corresponding to a decrease rate of only 12.8%,25.72%,and 33.9%.The microstructure and chemical composition of the three samples are analyzed, and the results show that the morphology of the scrimber does not change significantly after aging, while birch and pine wood both exhibit certain degrees of defects. The three samples only experienced slight degradation on the surface, producing carbonyl functional groups and derivatives, without inducing the decomposition of polysaccharides or deeper structures. In the vertical combustion test, scrimber can achieve self-extinguishing without dripping, while pine wood has a clear fire core.
