《英国病人》的通感隐喻认知研究

摘　　要：翁达杰小说《英国病人》一直备受学界的欢迎和喜爱,这与该小说中意蕴深刻的通感隐喻带给人们心灵的触动和思考有很大的关系。以认知语言学的通感隐喻为理论指导,通过对《英国病人》中的感官语言描写进行语义解读和分析后发现:《英国病人》中的通感隐喻在映射规律上,基本与乌尔曼的映射规律结论相同,符合具体向抽象、可及性向不可及性、低层次向高层次的映射规律,但也有反例;对作品中通感隐喻的分析可以加深人们对战争的残酷性的具身体验和认知,深化小说的反战主题,增强该小说的文学效果,因而在跨学科研究视角下同样具有重要价值。Philip Michael Ondaatje’s novel The English Patient has been welcomed and loved in the academic field.This novel deeply impressed readers with profound synaesthesia metaphors created by the author.Guided by the Theory of Synaesthesia Metaphor,the sensory languages are analyzed and interpreted in a cognitive way in this paper,and found that:the synaesthesia metaphor in The English Patient is ubiquitous,which mostly conforms to Ullmann’s mapping laws of from concrete to abstraction,accessibility to inaccessibility,and lowlevel to highlevel,but there are also a few counterexamples.The analysis of synaesthesia metaphors in this novel can deepen people’s embodied experience and cognition of the cruelty of war and the novel’s antiwar theme,and enhance its literary effect.Therefore,it is also of great value in the perspective of interdisciplinary research.
