摘 要:Online lesson was popular during the pandemic period from 2019.It explores the application of emojis and gestures in online Chinese as a Second Language(L2)lessons,focusing on their intercultural implications. With the increasing popularity of online education, particularly for teaching Chinese to international students, the use of non-verbal communication tools like emojis and gestures has become essential.Emojis, often considered a universal form of communication, carry different meanings across cultures, which can lead to misunderstandings in an educational context.Similarly, gestures used by teachers can be interpreted differently by students from diverse cultural backgrounds. This paper analyzes these cultural differences and provides insights into how teachers can effectively use emojis and gestures to enhance cross-cultural communication in online classrooms.By understanding and addressing these differences, teachers can improve their intercultural competence, avoid potential miscommunications, and create a more inclusive and effective learning environment.
