Obstructive osteoporosis refers to the loss of bone mass caused by local unloading or systemic disuse.Under the lack of load and mechanical stress stimulation, the bone breaking effect is greater than the osteogenic effect, resultsing in bone loss and osteoporosis.Alpha ketoglutarate is not only a metabolite of skeletal muscle, but also a cellular signaling molecule that promotes osteogenesis and inhibits osteoclastogenesis.Andα-ketoglutarate has the effect of promoting skeletal muscle growth, which can better restore limb load and mechanical stimulation.Through previous research and summarization by scholars,it has been concluded that alpha ketoglutarate has good prospects in the treatment of disuse osteoporosis. The purpose of this article is to discuss the etiology and current treatment method of disuse osteoporosis,as well as the impact of alpha ketoglutarate on bone metabolism, and to provide prospects for the treatment of disuse osteoporosis with alpha ketoglutarate.
