A Study of Emoji in Vlog’s Comments:Pragmatic and Rhetorical Perspectives

摘  要:作为当代凸显度很高的网络媒介语,emoji在新兴自媒体短视频评论中频繁出现。本文在塞尔言语行为理论和伯克认同论框架下,运用文本分析和数据统计方法,探讨文旅宣传短视频评论中emoji的不同语用修辞特征,尤其是emoji完成的言语行为、在言语行为中发挥的功能以及emoji所实现的修辞认同。研究发现:观众通过emoji实现了表达、描述、承诺和指令四大类言语行为,宣告类言语行为在本视频评论分析中尚未发现;emoji在实施言语行为时,主要以行为、反应和转变语气为主要功能,独立或协助文字语言实施言语行为;emoji帮助观众在评论中实现了同情认同,对立认同和虚假认同,其中同情认同占据首位。作为网络媒介语,emoji在网络交流中具有与语言文字一样的功能,帮助网络主体实施语用言语行为、实现修辞认同,对于网络沟通交流具有重要作用。As a prominent part of Computer-Mediated Communication(CMC),emoji prevails in the emerging Vlog's comments.Situated under the theoretical framework of Searle's Speech Acts Theory and Burke's Identification Theory,via discourse analysis and statistics,this study aims to explore the pragmatic and rhetoric characteristics and function of emoji in the comments of Vlogs centering on cultural and travel communication.The result shows that emoji-mediated comments have performed such speech acts as expressives,assertives,commissives and directives,while speech act of declarations has not been found in present study.In those speech acts,emoji mostly functions as action,reaction and tone modification independently or coexisting with words.Meanwhile,emoji helps audience realize their identification by sympathy,antithesis and inaccuracy and emoji-assisted identification through sympathy takes up the majority.Therefore,emoji,as language of CMC,performing speech acts and realizing rhetoric identification just like verbal language,weighs a lot in CMC.
