Did the"Shannon-Weaver"Model Ever Exist?——Critical Examination of Key Historical Facts in Domestic and International Communication Theory from an Interdisciplinary Versioning Approach

摘　　要：采用历史学科版本学方法,通过不同学科同一概念的横轴对比和不同年代同一主题版本的纵轴勘验,论文发现:在国内外新闻传播理论体系中被广泛引用的“香农-韦弗”模式实际不存在。从知识产权与图形相似度来看,韦弗仅延伸评介了香农的信息论原文,对1948年诞生的“一般通信系统”模式无原创贡献。从发表间隔来看,1948年7月与10月,香农发表了“信息论”奠基论文并绘制了“一般通信系统”模式。12个月后的1949年7月,韦弗才在报刊上发表了评介香农信息论的文章。从创作关系来看,1949年9月,出版社将香农的“信息论”文章与韦弗的评介文章汇编成书,而非合著。论文进一步梳理了“香农-韦弗”模式在国内理论研究领域的流变轨迹,基于注释关系构建了海外原始文献与国内理论出版物样本群之间关联关系及差异化结果。This paper uses an interdisciplinary versioning approach to examine one conception among different disciplines and diverse editions over various periods.The study reveals that the widely cited"Shannon-Weaver"model in the theoretical framework of communication studies,both domestically and internationally,does not actually exist.From the perspective of intellectual property and graphical similarity,Weaver merely reviewed and extended Shannon's original work on information theory,without making any original contributions to the"Schematic diagram of a general communication system"established in 1948.Regarding the publication timeline,Shannon published his information theory paper and illustrated the original model respectively in July and October 1948.It was not until twelve months later,in July 1949,that Weaver released an article in newspapers,reviewing Shannon's information theory.In terms of authorship,the publisher assembled Shannon's information theory article and Weaver's reviewing article into a book in September 1949,rather than as a co-authored work.Moreover,this article further examines the evolving trajectory of the"Shannon-Weaver"model in domestic theoretical research,establishing the relationship and differentiated results between the original overseas literature and domestic theoretical publications based on citation relationships.
