摘  要:Ting-Liang Woo(1893–1969),styled Junyi,was a famous anthropologist,statistician,psychologist,and educator in modern China,and the founder of physical anthropology.Woo was born in January 1893 in Jintan county,Jiangsu province.He was diligent and studious since he was a child.Lacking a mother’s love,he experienced a difficult childhood and adolescence,but he still cultivated a hard-working and fighting spirit.In 1920,Woo was admitted to the Department of Psychology at the Nanjing Higher Normal College(later called Southeast University),where he studied under the supervision of Chih-Wei Luh(1894–1970,received a Ph.D.from the University of Chicago in 1920),a linguist,experimental psychologist,and educator.
