摘　　要：著名的心理小说《螺丝在拧紧》也是一部反思英国儿童教育的小说,它折射出在19世纪的英国,帝国意识渗透进了学校与家庭教育的肌理之中,小主人公迈尔斯接受的公学教育强调培养帝国接班人的唯一信条,忽视儿童的心理引导。小说中的家庭女教师耽于帝国幻想,不再教授知识。帝国意识令女教师产生对儿童的掌控欲,她认为教育是一场与鬼魂的“儿童争夺战”,小说结尾女教师认为取得了控制权而癫狂,误杀迈尔斯。迈尔斯之死是帝国意识渗透入教育之中而导致的一场社会悲剧。The famous psychological novel“The Turn of the Screw”is also a reflection on children’s education in England.It reflects that in 19th-century England,imperial consciousness permeated the fabric of school and family education.The public school education received by the young protagonist Miles emphasizes the sole creed of cultivating imperial successors,ignoring the psychological guidance of children.The female governess in the novel indulges in imperial fantasies and no longer imparts knowledge.The imperial consciousness makes the female teacher develop a desire to control children.She believes that education is a“children battle”with ghosts.At the end of the novel,the female teacher becomes insane and mistakenly kills Miles,believing that she has gained control.Miles’death is a social tragedy caused by the infiltration of imperial consciousness into education.
