A Brief Report on the Excavation of the Guanyinge Kilns Site in Jingdezhen in 2024

摘　　要：观音阁窑址位于江西省景德镇市珠山区昌江村,遗址中部的青塘路向北通往浮梁县城,南连中山北路通往市中心区[图一]。该窑址地处景德镇市瓷业生产区域的北端,窑场规模大,窑业遗存分布范围广,北起观音阁,西至昌江东岸,南达四图里,东到张家坞、秧田坞山坡下,集中于观音阁、东王庙一带的村中菜地及房屋下<1>。考古调查表明,窑址依周边山水地势分布,居于山坡、江岸之间的台地,由东部山下台地向西一直延伸到昌江岸畔及至河滩,窑业堆积由山坡下至昌江边逐渐增厚,是迄今景德镇保存最好的明代民窑遗址之一。This report overviews the excavation of the Guanyinge kilns site,a folk kiln complex,large-scaled and well-preserved,located along the Changjiang River in northern Jingdezhen,during March to July 2o24 by a joint archaeological team of National Center for Archaeology and other institutes.The excavations were carried out in the central and southern areas of the kiln site concerning the coverage,age and layout,and the functional zones as well.As the result of the field survey,the workshop remains and processing area of the late Ming Dynasty,the accumulated piles of porcelain materials of the mid-Ming Dynasty are uncovered as well as the original kiln with piled stuff from the Southern Song Dynasty to the Yuan Dynasty in the southern kiln site.Meanwhile,a large number of porcelain objects,firing tools and other relics are unearthed which are aged early to the period from the Southern Song to the Yuan Dynasties,the middle to late Ming Dynasty.The excavation project reveals the evolution of the Guanyinge Kilns Site going through the Southern Song and the Ming Dynasties.The archaeological findings witness the large-scaled production on the-specialized-division basis during the middle and late Ming era,so do the products of the export-traded porcelains represent the role of the Guanyinge kilns in the overseas trade of that times.
