摘　　要：The Meng Xiang,China's first domestically designed and built deep-ocean drilling vessel,in Guangzhou,Guangdong Province,on November 17.China officially commissioned the vessel that same day,reaching a new milestone in the exploration of uncharted ocean territories.At 179.8 meters in length and 32.8 meters in width,the Meng Xiang is China's largest scientific research vessel.It is equipped with nine advanced laboratories dedicated to research in fields such as geology,geochemistry and microbiology.It can operate continuously for up to 120 days and has a range of 15,000 nautical miles.Currently,it is the only drilling vessel in the world capable of ultra-deepwater drilling at depths of 11 km.
