Dunhuang Tibetan literature contains a considerable number of prayer documents with rich content and diverse functions, among which one type is confession documents. This article uses the method of literature research to collect more than fifteen different numbered confessions and prayers, with a focus on introducing the general situation of each article and the relationship between the relevant documents before and after it.Based on this,it is analyzed that the Tibetan term“’gyod tshang”frequently appears in the Tibetan translation of Chinese Buddhist scriptures, and has the same meaning as the Tibetan term“bshags pa”,both of which were used together during the Tubo Period.Confession prayers with the title“’gyod tshang”can be divided into two categories due to differences in repentance methods and framework structures:one is such as P T.17 as an example, consistingof six accumulated funds as its content;Another type is P T.178 as an example, which is a confession prayer with worship and repentance as the main content.By analyzing the narrative styles of the two and the differences in their respective Buddhist scriptures,it is shown that confession and prayer texts,as daily spiritual practices, were popular during the Tubo Period and were deeply influenced by the exchange of Buddhist culture between China and other regions. This indicates that under the influence of the spread of Buddhism,Buddhist confession ideas were infused into customs such as funerals and medical treatment at that time.
