Using soda saline-alkali soil in Songyuan City,Jilin province,as the test soil, two commonly used traditional Chinese medicine residue compost products for heat clearing and detoxifying were applied to soda saline-alkali soil to explore the feasibility of applying the residue compost to improve soda saline-alkali soil. The results showed that under laboratory conditions, when the application rate of compost reached 3%,soil pH decreased to 8.55,conductivity decreased to 538μS/cm,ESP decreased to 32.59%,total salt content decreased by 12.50%,and contents of available N,P,and K increased by 91.90%,44.29%,and 55.22%,respectively.Content of organic matter increased significantly, and it could effectively improve permeability of soda saline-alkali soil, promote aggregation and transformation between different particle sizes of aggregates, increase content of aggregates with particle sizes>0.25 mm,and improve water stability of soil aggregates. The application of heat clearing and detoxifying traditional Chinese medicine residue compost products can improve the physicochemical properties of soda saline-alkali soil.
