摘　　要：There is not a generally accepted opinion on site of 1640 Mongol-Oirat gathering,with socholars suggest various place as venue,all of which are conditioned by the lack of historical source.In this article we take a general survey over various opinions provided by scholars and put forward our new offer for the veue that obtained from recent discoveries.The boundary negotiation between the Qing Court and Zungaria took a time of 18 years,with interruptions,to reach to an agreement in 1740.In the course of the protracted negotiation,Zungarian side had always been keeping the positon that the Mount Altai was their territory and,in expressions of that discourse,they shed light on the site of the 1640 Mongol-Oirat gathering.We here take the information found in the materials of the Qing-Zungarian negotiation as argument to express our own perspective on the site of the 1640 gathering.
