摘　　要：This article analyzes the original meaning and historical evolution of the affix"-msar 2"in Middle Mongolian.The suffix"-msar 2"was used in 13th century literature such as The Secret History of the Mongols to indicate the generation of a negative verb participle;In the language of literature such as The Golden History in the 17th century,the suffix"-msar 2"combined with the word"ugei"expressed a negative meaning.But in modern Mongolian,the suffix"-msar 2"has become a noun generating suffix and must be combined with the word"ugei"to express a negative meaning.
