“真理即创造”:维柯与萨义德人文主义思想的开端

摘  要:维柯的哲学对萨义德的人文主义思想产生了深远影响。维柯“创造的”认识论使萨义德把世俗视作人文主义的核心,维柯的诗性原则又使萨义德看重语文学并阐发了一种“带有想象的细读”以践行其世俗人文主义。在形而上学维度,维柯反现代的神学意图使萨义德渴求普遍性和确定性,试图经由批评发掘人文主义的形而上学意义,最终实现“人的拯救”。然而,萨义德也对维柯做出抵抗,搁置了维柯的神学意图与“创造”的属神性。“创造”的属人性、人文主义的世俗性、现世的具体之人始终是萨义德人文主义思想的核心,它们使萨义德的人文主义区别于西方传统人文主义,呈现出强烈的动态性,能够面对不同境况调整应对策略和践行方式。Vico's philosophy profoundly influenced Said's humanist thought.Vico's epistemology of“making”led Said to put the secular as the core of humanism,while Vico's poetic principle inspired Said to practice his secular humanism by emphasizing philology and elaborating an“imaginative close reading.”In terms of metaphysical significance,Vico's antimodern theological stance prompted Said's quest for universality and certainty.Through the criticism,Said aimed to uncover the metaphysical meaning of humanism,with the ultimate goal of“the salvation of man.”However,Said also pushed back against Vico by rejecting his theological intentions.The concept of“making”by humans,the secular orientation of humanism,and the living human beings in the world remained central to Said's humanism,distinguishing his humanism from traditional Western humanism,and thus presenting a strong dynamic quality,always adjusting its response strategies and practices to different situations.
