摘  要:In April 2018,I was attending a conference on biosensors–a road trip organized by ACS Sensors held in Shanghai,there was one marvelous talk astounded me.The talk was given by Prof Yanyi Huang from Beijing University,and was on the use of centrifugal based oil-in-water microdroplet biosensors for measuring nucleic acids of low abundance.[1].The elegancy of the work was that a microdroplet generator was developed in such a way that it used centrifugation instead of microfluidic pump.By doing so,it solved two key problems during measurements–first the sensitivity issue and second mass transport problem.
