To investigate the thermal and moisture variations of typical wall structures under freeze-thaw conditions in cold regions, this study uses Harbin as a case example.Using Delphin simulation, the changes in internal moisture content, ice content, moisture accumulation, and thermal conductivity of four types of external insulated composite walls with the same thermal conductivity coefficient and different base materials were analyzed. The results indicate that freezing occurs only in the insulation layer, with the ice content decreasing annually. The moisture accumulation in composite walls made of aerated concrete and foam concrete significantly decreases over the first four years. The increase in thermal conductivity of the insulation layer in moist conditions compared to dry conditions is 1.06,1.15,1.16 and 1.12 times for the four wall types, while the increase for the concrete layer is 0.02,0.38,2.61 and 4.36 times, respectively. This research provides valuable insights for analyzing the thermal and moisture characteristics of typical wall structures in cold regions and for energy-efficient design.
