摘　　要：美国印第安作家詹姆斯·韦尔奇在历史小说创作中聚焦19世纪中叶到20世纪初的印第安人和白人关系史。通过史料的重新考证和运用,小说全景式地深度还原了诸多重要历史事件。印第安神话、口述故事的改写等超现实叙事策略营造了陌生化的艺术效果,形成了差异化的历史书写模式。韦尔奇的在创作中坚定表达印第安人对历史的多元认知,深刻有力地批判了进步主义史学观,构成抵御强势文化的差异政治。American Indian writer James Welch focuses on the history of Indians and whites relations from the mid-19th century to the early 20th century.Through the re-investigation and application of historical records,the novels provide a panoramic and in-depth depiction of many important historical events.The adaptation of American Indian myths,oral stories and other surreal narrative strategies brings forthdis-familiarization artistic effect,creating a differentiated mode of historical writing.In his historical novels,Welchfirmly expresses American Indians' diverse conceptions of history,powerfully criticizes the progressive historical view.Welch's writing can be interpreted as politics of differenceto resist the dominant culture.
