The construction of Low Impact Development(LID)facilities can enhance the recharge of natural precipitation to groundwater and reduce the environmental damage caused by urban development. However, existing studies mostly focus on individual or typical LID facilities, lacking discussions on the impact of large-scale and longterm sponge city construction on overall groundwater level changes. This study uses the Visual MODFLOW model to simulate the dynamic changes in groundwater levels before and after the construction of LID facilities in the study area. The results indicate that in typical LID construction areas, the groundwater depth increased by 0 to 2 meters, and the recharge from precipitation to the water table increased by 1.83%.This suggests that LID facilities can significantly enhance the recharge of precipitation to groundwater in localized areas, but have a negligible impact on the overall dynamics of groundwater levels.
