摘　　要：肖前先生是中国马克思主义哲学家、教育家的杰出代表,在理论研究、教材编研、人才培养和学科建设等方面均有显著成就。他强调哲学必须面向现实、走进人民,并与科学共进,勇于自我革新;他发表在《人民日报》的文章《把哲学变为群众手中的锐利武器》受到毛泽东和周恩来的高度评价;他提出的“实践的唯物主义”概念,对马克思主义哲学本质进行了中国特色的理解和表达;他编写了《辩证唯物主义原理》《历史唯物主义原理》等重要教材,不断优化教材体系,持续推动深化马克思主义哲学教学改革,为马克思主义哲学中国化、时代化、大众化的发展和中国特色社会主义现代化建设做出了重要贡献。Mr.Xiao Qian is an outstanding representative of Chinese Marxist philosophers and educators,and has made remarkable achievements in theoretical research,textbook compilation and research,personnel training and discipline construction.He emphasized that philosophy must be oriented to reality,go into the hands of the people,progress with science,and be brave in self-innovation;his article“Turning Philosophy into a Sharp Weapon in the Hands of the Masses”published in thePeople's Daily was highly praised by Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai;the concept of“Practical Materialism”put forward by him has given a distinctive understanding and expression of the essence of Marxist philosophy;he wrote the book“Dialectical Materialism”and the book“Dialectical Materialism”.His concept of“practical materialism”provides a Chinese understanding and expression of the essence of Marxist philosophy;he has written important teaching materials such as Principles of Dialectical Materialism and Principles of Historical Materialism,continuously optimized the teaching material system,and pushed forward and deepened the reform of the teaching of Marxist philosophy,thus making important contributions to the development of the Chineseization,modernization and popularization of Marxist philosophy and the modernization of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
