摘　　要：在担任私立南开大学校长期间(1919—1946),张伯苓展现出深沉的爱国主义情怀,执着于“教育救国”的宏志,重视建立宽厚的人际网络。这些非制度层面上的努力对南开大学的发展产生了相当深刻的影响:赢得了宝贵的社会资本,推动了学校财力的增加和社会声望的提升,促进了南开大学的发展。这些努力是南开大学跻身民国一流大学行列的关键因素。During her tenure as president of private Nankai University(1919-1946),Zhang Boling showed her deep patriotism,attached herself to the great ambition of"saving the country through education",and attached great importance to the establishment of interpersonal network.These non-institutional efforts exerted a profound influence on the development of Nankai University at that time:they won precious social capital for the development of the university,promoted the increase of financial resources and social prestige,and promoted the development of Nankai University.These efforts have become a key factor for Nankai University to become one of the top universities in the Republic of China.
