A nearly neutral Fenton like system(Cu(II)/H_(2)O_(2)/HA)was proposed to address the issue of narrow pH range in the Fenton system for wastewater treatment.AO7 was targeted for pollutant degradation, and the effects of reaction conditions such as Cu(II)dosage,H_(2)O_(2)dosage,HA dosage, and pH value on the degradation of AO7 by Cu(II)/H_(2)O_(2)/HA were studied. The results showed that under near neutral conditions(pH=6),the Cu(II)/H_(2)O_(2)/HA system had a significant degradation effect on AO7,with a removal rate of up to 81%.Moreover,the decomposition kinetics of AO7 in this system followed a pseudo first order reaction kinetics, with a reaction rate constant of 0.128 min-1.The increase in pH promotes the degradation of AO7.The removal mechanism and pathway of AO7 by Cu(II)/H_(2)O_(2)/HA system were investigated by adding different free radical quenchers.Among them,·OH is the main active species in the degradation process of AO7.The action of HA reduces Cu(II)to Cu(I),thereby promoting the decomposition of H_(2)O_(2)to produce·OH and improving the oxidative degradation efficiency of the system.
