“教”“养”之间:父亲育儿参与状况及其影响因素  

Between“Teaching”and“Nurturing”:The Status of Father’s Participation in Parenting and Its Influencing Factors

摘  要:利用一项全国范围内的调查数据,从男性参与家务劳动的理论出发,考察性别意识、时间约束与相对经济资源三个因素对父亲参与孩子的“教”和“养”的影响以及在孩子不同年龄段的差异,发现性别意识越平等,父亲越倾向于较多地参与“教”和“养”;父亲在家庭中相对其配偶的经济资源越丰富,越倾向于较少地参与孩子的日常照料和学习辅导,尤其是年龄较大孩子的日常照料;配偶工作对父亲参与的作用不显著,但与长辈同住会降低父亲参与0~6岁孩子的日常照料的概率。受益于社会性别平等意识的提升,我国男性在育儿方面的参与得到增加,但男性对“教”和“养”仍存在选择性投入,我国独特的家庭居住模式和女性的劳动参与率使时间约束对父亲参与的影响呈现出与其他国家不同的特点。Based on theories about men’s participation in housework,this paper examines the effect of gender ideology,time constrains and relative economic resources on fathers’involvement in children’s education and daily care activities and their variations.Using a national level survey data,the results show that gender ideology is positively related to fathers’involvement in both activities.Relative economic resources have a negative relationship with both activities,and particularly more negative with older children’s daily care.Among the time constrains factors,the female partner’s employment status does not have a significant effect on fathers’involvement.However,living together with grandparents decreases fathers’involvement in 3~6-year-old children’s daily care.Benefiting from the enhanced awareness of gender equality,the involvement of Chinese men in child-rearing has increased.However,men still selectively engage in“teaching”and“nurturing”.China’s unique family living patterns and women’s labor participation rates result in time constraints affecting fatherly involvement in ways that differ from other countries.
