摘　　要：Marquetry,also known as wood mosaic or wood veneer mosaic,uses wood as its primary material for intricate inlay work.Historically significant,marquetry can be seen in renowned museums like France’s Louvre,the British Museum,and Italy’s Uffizi Gallery.It is favored in interior design for its natural ambiance and affordability,enhancing spaces with its rich textures and colors.Having evolved significantly during the Italian Renaissance,today’s technological advancements have simplified marquetry,allowing for more complex designs and easier production.This thesis explores the application of thin wood inlays in modern home decor,highlighting marquetry’s blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetics,contributing to interior design innovation and inspiring designers.
