摘　　要：针对被子起源问题的研究空白,文章运用古汉字字源学、古文献及科技哲学三维印证方法,对被子起源问题中原始形制、使用材料、起源动机及价值分析等问题展开分析。研究表明:从起源形态上来看,被子由原始衣服覆体功能分化而来,其最早形态为鞣制的片状皮革,随着社会发展为纺织材料所取代;从起源时间来看,被子形态确定于新石器时代早期;从起源价值分析来看,被子在人类睡眠功能进化、地理扩张、认知能力提升等方面发挥了积极作用。The origin of quilts has thus far received little attention in academic circles,as researchers of textile culture have traditionally focused more extensively on cultural studies related to clothing and apparel.On the one hand,quilts,as essential survival tools,function as intermediaries between humans and their environment;therefore,their origin and early evolution are inevitably shaped by complex interactions between cultural practices and genetic evolution,making single-disciplinary explanations insufficient in scope and universality.On the other hand,attempts to trace the origin of quilts based solely on their contemporary functions and cultural meanings risk introducing interpretative biases that may distort historical understanding.Investigating the origin of quilts is therefore crucial in addressing this oversight,broadening the scope of ancient textile culture research,and strengthening the foundational framework of studies dedicated to ancient textile artifacts.Using a three-dimensional corroborative approach that integrates ancient Chinese etymology,classical documents,and the philosophy of science and technology,this article thoroughly examines the origin of the quilt,focusing on its primary form,the materials involved,motivations behind its creation,and an in-depth analysis of its value.The findings are centered around three major conclusions.First,from an origin perspective,the quilt originated from the primitive function of clothing as a covering for warmth and protection.Initially,this role was fulfilled by simple tanned animal skins,which were subsequently replaced by textile fabrics as textile technology advanced,governmental control intensified,and the frequency and impact of warfare grew.Second,from a temporal perspective,the formation of the quilt as a distinct item can be traced back to the early Neolithic era,largely attributed to the“broad-spectrum revolution”that occurred during the transition from the Paleolithic era to the Neolithic era.This period was characterized by a significant d
