摘 要:当前各种小数据包业务如心跳包已在移动互联网业务中占据了一定的比重,为了减少小数据包业务对于移动网信令的开销以及降低终端的功耗,3GPP Release 17中引入了Small data transmission(SDT)机制,以支持在UE处于非活动状态时的上行数据传输。SDT允许应用程序在UE处于RRC_INACTIVE模式时发送小数据包,而无需达到连接的活动状态。评估了SDT在支持心跳包传输过程中的用户面时延、终端功耗,仿真结果表明相比于传统的Release 15空闲状态机制SDT在用户面时延和终端功耗方面分别可以降低34%和57%。Various small data packet services,such as heartbeat packets,have become significant in mobile internet applications.To reduce signaling overhead and lower terminal power consumption associated with small data packets,the 3GPP Release 17 introduces the Small Data Transmission(SDT)mechanism,which supports uplink data transmission while the User Equipment(UE)is in RRC inactive state.The SDT mechanism allows applications to transmit small data packets while the UE is in RRC_INACTIVE mode,without transiting to RRC_CONNECTED state.An evaluation of the SDT mechanism,focusing on user plane latency and terminal power consumption during heartbeat packet transmission,indicates that compared to the traditional Release 15 idle state mechanism,SDT reduces user plane latency and terminal power consumption by 34%and 57%,respectively.
