摘 要:罗蒂的偶然观念源于他的学位论文中的“潜在性”概念,在《偶然、反讽与团结》中以语汇为突破口被系统阐述。语汇是需要被个体创造的语词。语词创造的动力源于自我对自身的独特性的焦虑。自我是彰显个体独特性的异质的自我,只能出现于民主制度之中。为了改进美国的民主制度,罗蒂通过增加个体对残酷的敏感性来减少个体对他者的隐性的残酷行为,让他者自觉地融入“我们”之中。罗蒂的目标是个体获得最大限度的自由。这种构想在文学文本层面承认了偶然、变化与自由的合法性,彰显了偶然观念的无主体性的现代历史意识。它固然可以解决罗蒂早年面临的如何平衡私人兴趣与社会责任问题,却因缺少清晰的操作流程而并未真正达到罗蒂早年乃至终生都在渴望达到的平衡。The idea of contingency by Rorty originates from the concept of potentiality in his dissertations and is explained in detail in his book Contingency,Irony and Solidarity.Vocabulary is a vocabulary for individuals to create.The motivation to create vocabularies originates from an individual's anxiety about their uniqueness.Self is a heterogeneous self that presents the individual's uniqueness in conversation,which can only appear in a democratic system.Rorty attempts to increase sensibility to cruelty to decrease the potential cruel action so that others can become one of us consciously.What Rorty pursuits is how to make the individual do their best to attain freedom.This idea admits the validity of contingency,changes as well as freedom and presents non-subjective of modern historical awareness.This theoretical plan can solve the problem of how to balance personal interest and social responsibility with which Rorty is confronted but cannot truly solve it due to lacking clear operational procedures.
